Touchdown! Welcome to our latest E190…
Cobham first announced its fleet renewal program of aircraft servicing the FIFO market in 2019, with the introduction of the Bombardier Q400 and Embraer E190 aircraft.
Since that time, our expanding fleet of Q400 and E190 aircraft types offers outstanding airfield performance, enhanced operational reliability and low carbon emissions - a sustainable choice for FIFO in Australia.
Last month we welcomed a new Q400 to our fleet, while this week, our latest E190 aircraft has joined Cobham’s family of jets, flying in to our Perth base from Maastricht in the Netherlands.
The E190 aircraft provides a new level of passenger comfort with more space, a wider aisle and a 2 x 2 configuration in the main cabin which guarantees either an aisle or window seat.
The E190 offers substantially better operational uplift performance, particularly in hot weather at regional ports such as in the Pilbara, as well as being able to fly further distances compared to similar size aircraft. This reduces the need for additional fuel uplift in regional and remote locations and also cuts CO2 emissions by up to 15 per cent per trip.
Cobham Regional Services Managing Director, Dean Brennan, said that the investment in new aircraft allowed for substantial growth capacity and agility in Cobham’s operations.
“We are matching our clients’ emphasis on embracing the most novel technology with reduced carbon footprint, to ensure we are as future ready as the mine sites we service,” Dean said.
