Cobham commences flights to Abra Base Metals Project

Cobham this year commenced flights to Abra Base Metals Project, a globally significant lead-silver site in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.

The site’s newly constructed unsealed runway enables fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) services using modern Q400 turboprop aircraft, which deliver similar performance to jet aircraft.

“Commencing services to Abra has been a fantastic way to kick off the year and we’re excited to be delivering these services using our new Q400s,” said Tim Pirga, Cobham’s Business Development Director.

“Our goal is to provide an exemplary customer experience making each FIFO flight an enjoyable one.”

“ The Q400 maintains a lower carbon footprint than similar size jet aircraft whilst delivering comparable flight times, cabin comfort and on time performance” Tim said.

This is Cobham’s third new service to commence in the past two months as the company continues its fleet renewal and expansion plans.
