BlueSky Broome Pride takes off for diversity and inclusion in regional communities
A Cobham VIP charter departed Perth on 26 February to fly 100 BlueSky guests to Broome Pride to take part in a weekend of fun and frivolity for an important cause supporting diversity and inclusion in regional communities.
BlueSky partners with Cobham and regional WA businesses and communities to create unique travel events that both encourage regional tourism in an environmentally conscious way and raise funds for the Rotary of Crawley’s service projects.
BlueSky project lead Regan Ashley said that each travel event is themed and has a specific fundraising focus.
“After the huge success of the inaugural BlueSky Kalgoorlie in September 2020, we came up with the idea of a Broome Pride event to support and celebrate pride and the regional WA LGBTI community,” Regan said.
“We estimate that this single BlueSky trip alone will inject $125,000 into the Broome economy over the weekend and raise tens of thousands for charity.”
All profits raised on the BlueSky Broome Pride event go to Copeland LGBTI crisis accommodation and the Rotary Club of Crawley’s service projects, ranging from youth empowerment, community relief support and global health initiatives.
Cobham Regional Services Managing Director Dean Brennan said that Cobham was excited to partner with BlueSky on these special charter flights, which promoted regional travel.
“It’s fantastic to see the appetite for travel to regional WA - demand for this trip was so great that it sold out in less than a week,” Dean said.
