Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Hold, promote and demonstrate safety as a core value to the business and lead in driving the business toward its vision of Zero Harm and an incident / injury free environment through active support of and participation in, all safety programmes
• Assist in developing and implementing topical and regular safety campaigns and publications
• Promoting and facilitate sound ethical safety risk management activities across the business
• Assist and conduct change and risk assessments with the management team
• Conduct audits and safety investigations to effectively determine causal and contributory factors; identify safety, quality and process deficiencies
• Conduct continuous improvement and development of safety investigation processes and procedures
• Further enhance, implement and develop effective reporting protocols, procedures and processes
• Oversight the safety database and safety risk register, producing monthly and quarterly reports by ensuring the integrity of the data in the safety reporting database and Business Enterprise reporting tool is true and correct
• Build effective relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
• Undertake positive and proactive safety assurance activities
• Provide advice on the analysis and interpretation of safety information and data
• Assist in providing safety training across the business to meet legislative/ regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with all safe working procedures and policy requirements
• Assist with WHS&E activities including injury management
• Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Safety & Quality

Skills and Experience
Essential
• Understanding of Safety Management Systems and the CASA SMS Framework
• Lead Investigator qualification in Safety Investigation
• Auditor qualification in Quality Assurance, Safety Auditing in a similar field
• Advanced MS Office skills
• You must be an Australian Citizen and be eligible to hold and maintain a Government/Australian Border Force security clearance
Desirable
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
• Experience in the development and facilitating training programs

Cobham Special Mission provides aerial surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force. As the largest civil maritime surveillance operation of its kind in the world, Cobham operates 10 Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft from bases in Cairns, Darwin, and Broome. Working in a highly dynamic environment, you will be part of a team that patrols Australian waters, potentially 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The successful candidate can expect to be deployed from Perth to conduct their work. At this time it is anticipated that the deployment cycle will be for around 8 days, twice per month. Resource Planner – Perth

The Resource Planner is responsible for the provision, advice and delivery of crew rosters, the planning and recovery of Flight and Cabin Crew training events into the live or future roster and the coordination of all aspects of crew ongoing training requirements along with the compilation and management of related training programs.

The Resource Planner is responsible for the provision, advice and delivery of crew rosters, the planning and recovery of Flight and Cabin Crew training events into the live or future roster and the coordination of all aspects of crew ongoing training requirements along with the compilation and management of related training programs.

The position is required to work collaboratively with Training and Crewing functions. Also responsible for the conduct of general administration duties with Flight Operations.

The primary objective of this role is the allocation of training requirements and the production of compliant rosters by assigned deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Building crew pairings and rosters in accordance with EBA, Rostering Protocol, CAO48, and operational manual requirements ensuring all flights are fully crewed
• Liaise with Operations Team on planning issues to ensure resources match client requirements
• Conduct detailed analysis of flight schedules developed by clients to determine an agreed staffing level for aircrew
• Translating business strategies and requirements into Flight and Cabin Crew pairings that maximise productivity at the lowest cost at agreed risk levels
• Providing information reporting to Management including preparation and presentation (as applicable) of statistical reporting on roster performance including Flight and Cabin Crew productivity, actual roster performance versus plan
• Proactively seek rostering efficiency gains and ensure rostering does not result in unnecessary costs (e.g. travel related costs, penalties etc.)
• The planning of all aspects of ground training using Geneva as a key management and rostering tool
• Monitoring crew expiries including medical renewals and ensuring all training is completed prior to expiry dates. Communicate potential issues with relevant departments
• Rostering of ground check and training requirements for crew including all monthly ground training duties for Flight Operations Management pilots including Check Captains and Cabin Crew Trainers Coordinating of internal and external training Instructors / Providers
• Planning and programming of all intake training, ground schools, command training and transition training for crew in consultation with HTC/CCTM
• Arranging, in conjunction with Flight Operations and Cabin Crew Management, unplanned meetings, interviews, pax travel and other administrative duties as required by Training Department

Relief Training Coordinator when required
• Arrange all crew accommodation (overnights/day rooms), ground arrangements and commercial flights required at roster publish
• Establishment of efficient and cost-effective scheduling of flight simulator and associated flight training devices

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Experience in the use of the Rostering System – Geneva is desirable
• Exposure to aviation and/or manufacturing would be desirable
